Textbook Description
The economic tipping point for the United States is no longer theoretical. It is a reality today. The country has gone from the world’s largest creditor to its greatest debtor; the value of the dollar is sinking; domestic manufacturing is winding down – and these trends don’t seem to be slowing. Peter Schiff casts a sharp, clear-sighted eye on these factors and explains what the possible effects may be and how investors can protect themselves.
For more than a decade, Schiff has not only observed the U.S. economy, but also helped his clients reposition their portfolios to reflect his outlook. What he sees is a nation facing an economic storm brought on by growing federal, personal, and corporate debt, too-little savings, a declining dollar, and lack of domestic manufacturing.
Crash-Proof is an informed and informative warning of a looming period marked by sizeable tax hikes, loss of retirement benefits, double digit inflation, even – as happened recently in Argentina – the possible collapse of the middle class. However, Schiff does have a survival plan that can provide the protection that readers will need in the coming years.

Crash Proof Review
The systems going to fail and no one can do anything about it. This is Schiff’s view and he is 100% correct. Move you funds into gold and foreign stocks. Buy and read this book if you want to survive the next few years.

What an Eye Opener! This book is like the ‘reality glasses’ of John Carpenter movie ‘They Live’! It’s hard to imagine that this book has been published in February 2007! What a foresight! Peter Schiff, following the Austrian School of Economics theory, is absolutely right in his analysis, judgment and predictions. It’s amazing that he has been constantly mocked in the media – you can find it in YouTube – and even dubbed ‘Dr. Doom’. You should know the truth and you should be prepared to navigate through the difficult times ahead. I only wish I would have read it sooner.

A part of his book I really found interesting was where Mr Schiff talks about cargo ships coming from China to America full of goods and going back empty. Excellent point to think about for those of you who’ve been under the assumption that China needs us. Schiff was talking about this stuff 2 years ago, and now its just starting to come out how china’s starting to consumer their own goods, and even consume higher quality goods that they didn’t have access to before because they were shipped to the united states. This book is packed with things that have already played out, which he was ridiculed for even suggesting when he wrote the book. There is also plenty of things he’s just early on, and you’d do yourself a disservice to not listen to his ideas, whether you agree or not. He gives an excellent blue print for the Macro future of the United States and global economy.

You do not need an economics or even a business degree to understand. Large font, diagrams, really easy read. Why listen to those clowns on TV who’ve been telling you to buy stocks since the decline started, why not read a book from the man that forecasted all this. Go to Youtube and google Peter Schiff if your not familiar with him, and if you are familiar, this is must read for not only a good explanation of how we got to this point, but also for what is to come.

Workbook/Study Guide for use with Managerial Accounting Reviews
Like the workbook for Financial Accounting, this workbook is a great help in learning Managerial Accounting.

This book is a study guide with additional questions. While that information is helpful, I wanted the solutions manual for the problems in the associated Managerial Accounting book.

Most study guides have ANSWERS for the problems that are in the TEXT, as well as additional material. This had completely different problems (with answers). So it didn’t meet my expectations and I returned it. The publisher’s website has a sample chapter from this study guide, which I found after I’d bought/returned this book. I advise looking at the sample chapter so you know what you’re getting.

Textbook Description
As the long-time best-seller, Garrison has helped guide close to 2 million students through the challenging waters of managerial accounting since it was first published. It identifies the three functions managers must perform within their organizations plan operations, control activities, and make decisions and explains what accounting information is necessary for these functions, how to collect it, and how to interpret it. To achieve this, Managerial Accounting, 12/E, focuses, now as in the past, on three qualities:

Relevance Every effort is made to help students relate the concepts in this book to the decisions made by working managers. With insightful chapter openers, the popular Managerial Accounting in Action segments within the chapters, and stimulating end-of-chapter exercises, a student reading Garrison should never have to ask “Why am I learning this?”

Balance There’s more than one type of business, and so Garrison covers a variety of business models, including not-for-profit, retail, service, and wholesale organizations as well as manufacturing. In the twelfth edition, service company examples are highlighted with icons in the margins of the text.

Clarity Generations of students have praised Garrison for the friendliness and readability of its writing, but that’s just the beginning. Technical discussions have been simplified, material has been reordered, and the entire book carefully retuned to make teaching and learning from Garrison as easy as it can be. In addition, the supplements package is written by Garrison, Noreen, and Brewer, ensuring that students and professors will work with clear, well-written supplements that employ consistent terminology..

Managerial Accounting Reviews
I really learned a lot from Managerial Accounting. The text is very succinct and helpful, if a little too detailed. There is a wealth of practice problems available, even if you sometimes have to dig through them in order to really get to the helpful review. The book would have benefited from having the answers to the practice problems included, but the review problems at the end of each chapter are super helpful. Finally, the real-life business insights are the best I have ever read in a textbook and really made it enjoyable to read.

This book is impressive. It has many links to useful information in addition to this book, has an online learning center with the book, has dozens of people from various schools that came together to make it, has colorful graphics and illustrations (that make the concepts easy to understand, has information relevant to current events, and the ability to study the content on your ipod. Way to keep up with the times.

I had to buy this book for my Accounting class so I opted for the best and cheapest solution available so I decided to buy from Amazon.com. The shipping was great (2- 3 days) and I checked everything and it great until halfway through my class, 2 chapters were missing in the book without any pages ripped out. Either it was a misprint or something but it kind of hurt my progress in the class (a lil’ bit) but other than that it was fine. The actual book is fine if someone is teaching/helping you so I guess it does what it is supposed to do. Its a college, who honestly ENJOYS reading their college books???

The content of this book is great. This is the best Managerial Accounting book out there. However, the format and features need some improvement:
1) Needs check figures. You can’t really use this book for self-teaching because you cannot be certain that you have completed the exercises, problems, or cases correctly. For whatever reason, the authors failed to include answers to even numbered problems or to provide check figures. I was finally able to find check figures for problems and cases on the books website but I not exercises.
2) I bought the book from Amazon NEW, but the book was missing the card with the log-in codes to the book’s website, so I wasn’t able to access all of the book’s support features. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I should have just purchased it from my college bookstore.
